Overview
Habit Tracker is designed with privacy in mind. All habit data you create - habits, streaks, reminders, and progress - is stored locally on your device only. We do not collect, upload, or sell your personal data.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
We do not require you to create an account or provide any personal information to use Habit Tracker. No name, email address, or profile is collected by us.
1.2 Usage Analytics (Firebase Analytics)
We use Google Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous, aggregated usage data to understand how users interact with the app and to improve the user experience. This data includes:
- Screen views and navigation events
- Feature usage (e.g., habit creation, reminder setup)
- App open and session duration
- Device type and operating system version
This data is anonymous - it is not linked to your identity, and we cannot identify you from it. Firebase Analytics data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
1.3 Advertising (Google AdMob)
The free tier of Habit Tracker displays ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect:
- Advertising identifiers (IDFA on iOS, GAID on Android)
- Device information (model, OS version)
- Approximate location (country/region level)
- Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks)
This data is used by Google to serve relevant ads. You can limit ad tracking in your device settings:
- iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking
- Android: Settings → Google → Ads
Ad data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. Premium subscribers do not see ads.
1.4 In-App Purchases (RevenueCat)
We use RevenueCat to manage premium subscriptions. RevenueCat processes:
- Purchase receipts from Apple App Store or Google Play
- Subscription status (active, expired, cancelled)
- An anonymous app user ID to link purchases to your device
RevenueCat does not collect your payment information - payments are handled entirely by Apple or Google. RevenueCat's data handling is governed by RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information described above solely to:
- Operate and improve the app
- Display relevant advertisements (free tier only)
- Manage and restore your premium subscription
- Diagnose crashes and technical issues
We do not sell, rent, or trade any data to third parties for marketing purposes.
3. Data Storage
All habit data (habits, streaks, notes, reminders) is stored exclusively on your device using local storage. We do not have access to this data and it is not transmitted to any server.
If you delete the app, all locally stored data is permanently deleted.
4. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the Effective Date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
